Rodgers Organs

Having been in the business since 1958, the Rodgers Instrument Corporation has become the worldwide authority on digital pipe-sampled sound in the organ market. When a church or institution begins the search for a new organ, the list is not complete without a Rodgers, for a number of very important reasons.

In short form, Rodgers is the world’s leading manufacturer of digital organs. Their pioneering approach to producing the most realistic sound has resulted in a number of technological innovations unique to the Rodgers name. In past market research conducted by Rodgers through professional market analyzation firms, individuals and institutions who have been involved in the purchase have indicated many important factors they’ve considered, however, “quality of sound” continues to be the most important. This makes perfect sense — after all, what one aspect of an instrument will be noticed more prominently and by more people than any other factor? The sound the instrument produces. Is it pipe-like? Is it authentic? What is the technology behind it all?

Experienced musicians, organists, concert artists and others all over the world have unanimously chosen Rodgers when the musically-superior choice is what they desire — just take a look at our sidebar here to see the people who’ve already made the Rodgers choice. But make no mistake, it’s not just the great sound that’s drawn them toward these instruments — it’s the Rodgers commitment toward creating a great instrument all around; not just in one area. Excellent wood choices, quality case construction, premium keyboards, moisture / dust-sealed optical switching mechanisms, self-adjusting pedalboards, industry-leading sound equipment from Crown Audio, and many other things make a Rodgers organ the phenomenal musical instrument that it is.

But do you know what really keeps people committed to Rodgers, and what makes them confident with their purchase? It’s Rodgers’ commitment to the customer, in satisfaction and support. With the technological support and financial backing of Roland, and having been a part of the Roland group since 1988, Rodgers has stability and support capabilities unmatched by other much smaller, independent companies in the industry. In their Hillsboro, OR factory, Rodgers keeps over $1.5 million worth of parts available to support their instruments, both those still in production, and those from many years past.

Take a look at this video we’ve produced that highlights the excellent sound of the Rodgers Model 578 here in our store, and, after it’s finished, take a look at the full Rodgers lineup listed below!

The Rodgers Organ Lineup

The Rodgers organ lineup is made up of three distinct groups of instruments, the Rodgers Infinity Organs, the Rodgers 500 Series Organs, and the Roland Classic Organs, instruments produced under the Roland name, distributed by Rodgers dealerships.

The 500 Series

The Rodgers 500 Series instruments were developed completely from the ground up and released in 2012, incorporating the latest in digital organ innovation. The 500 Series are unique among other organs because of their technological architecture — their use of the SSC chip — developed by Roland. These organs represent the most capable and feature-filled mid-level instrument on the market today.

These instruments eliminate the need for many different models of organs with different stoplists because of the immense number of voices and capabilities contained within. Due to the unique ability of a Rodgers organ to switch between different organ styles individually, or even to mix and match different stops from different styles at will, even the smallest Model 558 with 27 physical stops has four times that many ranks of pipes (108 different ranks) to choose from. In addition to those 108 ranks, there are two “USER/MIDI” tabs per division which give you an extra 104 voices to choose from. These voices are assignable, can be re-voiced / octave shifted on the fly, and include 89 pipe organ voices, and 15 high-quality Roland orchestral voices.

The Infinity Series

The Infinity Series is the flagship Rodgers organ, an instrument which builds upon the many successes of the 500 Series, while adding a number of features of convenience and prestige. The Infinity Series is made up of three unique instruments that contain within them the tonal capabilities to produce any type of organ style or sound imaginable. As with the 500 Series, an extensive lineup of 10-15 different instruments is no longer necessary for the customer to have before them a selection of instruments with diverse capabilities.

The large number of features and conveniences built in to each of the three models enable the organist to experience a level of usability far in excess of what they would expect for any given model.
