Seiler Grands

Impeccable German engineering; the name to which all others are compared. A culmination of over 160 years of artistic innovation, resulting in an instrument of uncommon finesse and musical brilliance, handcrafted to this day in Kitzingen, Germany.

Since their beginning in 1849, the Seiler family has been a leader in the production of conservatory quality instruments for every conceivable application. The company was founded by Eduard Seiler. He wanted to make grand and upright pianos which would not only meet the most demanding, professional requirements but would also provide the educated and culturally versed middle-classes with easy access to the world of music. The company has since developed a rich tradition of excellence, something that is well-known in Germany and throughout the rest of Europe.

Since having been purchased by the Samick Music Corporation in 2008, their instruments are now gaining popularity throughout the rest of the world.

The trademark quality of a Seiler is apparent first and foremost in its sound. The unique Membrator soundboard developed and patented by Seiler gives the instrument the ability to have its voice resonate in a manner that is scientifically superior to the soundboards of other instruments. By using a soundboard that is grooved and tapered to ensure that it is thickest at its edges, and thinnest at the center, a greater level of acoustic projection is attained.

In addition to this, Seiler also developed and patented the Tonal Volume Stabilizer (TVS), which assists the instrument in producing greater power and projection through equalizing the tension across the bridge, which allows the soundboard to maintain its elasticity. You will notice on a Seiler instrument that there are no “sweet spots”, certain ranges of the instrument which sound better than others. The instrument speaks with a transparent, natural, full tone throughout its full range.

We present you now with a short video presentation of the Seiler lineup of instruments, along with more information about the three unique series of instruments that make up the Seiler piano family.

The Seiler family of instruments is comprised of three series of instruments: the Johannes Seiler, the Eduard Seiler, and the Seiler.
